WeUsThem received the esteemed Golden Award in the category of Strategic Communications at the prestigious MarCom Awards. This recognition highlights WeUsThem’s outstanding efforts in supporting the prevention of child sexual abuse through the transformative campaign, “Talking for Change,” executed for the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH).
The MarCom Awards, renowned for celebrating excellence in marketing and communication on a global scale, bestowed the Golden Award upon WeUsThem in acknowledgment of the exceptional impact and innovation demonstrated in the “Talking for Change” initiative.
“Receiving the award is a tremendous testament to our team and their commitment to using strategic marketing and communications to address critical societal issues and make a positive impact,” said Ashwin Kutty, President & CEO of WeUsThem. “We have always believed in bringing the same rigor to our cause based clients as we bring to our for-profit clients and do so by truly identifying a RoI that reflects how the community has been impacted”, Kutty added.
In collaboration with CAMH, WeUsThem put together a campaign that combined compelling storytelling, awareness-building, and educational elements to facilitate open and constructive conversations on this critical issue, resulting in engaging over 4.7 Million users, in addition to PR activities conducted across all three levels of government and developing partnerships with the Big 3 in Tech (Google, Meta and X).
“Working with Dr. Heasman and CAMH on a different approach that would have the potential to see a lot less victims was refreshing and challenging in how we would approach the campaign.” said Faten Alshazly, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer. “Ensuring that the creativity reflected the clinical approaches crucial to ensure there would be actual conversion across all the channels”, added Alshazly.”
WeUsThem’s groundbreaking campaign has not only captivated audiences but, more importantly, has served as a catalyst for open and constructive conversations surrounding the prevention of child sexual abuse. Their dedication to weaving a narrative that is both impactful and educational is commendable, fostering a community committed to safeguarding the well-being of our most vulnerable members, said Dr. Ainslie Heasman, Clinical Forensic Psychologist at the Sexual Behaviours Clinic at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) and Director of the Talking for Change Program.
The MarCom Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), attract entries from organizations worldwide. WeUsThem’s Golden Award underscores the agency’s leadership and creativity in the realm of strategic communications.
